The Athens-Oconee Junior Woman’s Club is creating a Public Art Exhibit for Athens. New York and Chicago had cows,Knoxville had bears and Meridian had carousel horses... Athens will have bulldogs! Local artists have painted 4-foot fiberglass bulldogs (44” x 70” x 33”) that will be located throughout Athens-Clarke County. Each bulldog is a unique creation showcasing the talents of local artists. This “We Let The Dogs Out” art exhibit is sure to become a tourist attraction not just for Athens bu for people all over Georgia and America.
Proceeds of this project will be given to the following charities to which the Athens-Oconee Junior Woman’s Club contributes: Nuci’s Space, Oconee County Art Foundation, Agriculture Exhibit in the ENSAT Center at Sandy Creek Nature Center, Georgia 4-H, Extra Special People, Hope Haven, Canine Companions for Independence, Operation Smile, Make A Wish Foundation, Bike Helmets for all Kids Programs and Tallulah Falls School.
